Itunuoluwa "Itunu" Williams is a 2nd-year master's student in History at the University of Mississippi. Born and bred in Lagos, Nigeria, Itunuoluwa relocated to the United States for higher education, receiving her bachelor's degree in Political Science from Alcorn State University. Her specialization is African history and gender studies, and her research interests include precolonial African history, cultural history, body theory & fat studies, girlhood studies, Third World women's representation in media, and girl development. This past summer, Itunu conducted fieldwork research on the female seclusion ritual peculiar to the Efiks and Ibibios in southern Nigeria, the topic of her master's thesis. The Mirage is her first play, but hopefully not her last."
